NO Peas Please

Went to my doc today .the Nephrologists. My one and only kidney had slipped from fifty nine gfr to forty four putting me at risk again. In addition, my sugar was at 113 which I am not sure what that is but he keeps asking are you sure, you are not diabetic? ha ha. Nope it was the lb of fudge I ate from our Church bake sale. The day before my blood test. Lol. Anyway, for two weeks now I have been thinking ok Lord what’s going on.  Dad keeps saying you’re not eating all those greens he makeS !!!...!! Me eat. The nutritionists said eat those things like collard greens mustered greens and spinach UNTIL YOU LIKE THEM. Ooh never going to happen. If they told me, I had to eat peas. It would be the end of the world! So anyway I had my new test fasting the whole bit and I am saying all this to say. The Lord God is a wonderful ally. He hears us when we pray. He heals us. He tells us to pay attention and do what we need to be doing and if listen...we do his will He reward's us. He was there with me this afternoon when My Doctor said. High five lady. You are back up and just not back up you are at sixty. My highest was only fifty nine. My HIGEST is beside me. Praise the Lord. But don't pass me the peas...Please

There will always be a debate

Christmas is what you make it. If you believe, that Christ was born (no matter what time of year). Then Christmas means the celebration of his life and his gift of Salvation. If you believe that, it is for presents and spending. Then that is your loss. As for me, I would rather believe in Christ.  Then Not, and find out in the end that it ‘was’ all about our Creator.  Our America was built on a foundation of “In God we Trust”. If you are that kind of American what ever Nationality, then God Bless you. If you are of the mind set that it is all BS Then I will pray for you. Because the only ‘saving’ you will understand is in your bank.

This is the day the Lord has made.

For almost ten years my living room, bathroom and dining room halls, etc. came together for Christmas like a pro had decorated... So why is it now that I moved .
Not one color or decoration has a place. Half a uhual load of Christmas decor, saved with care.... and I can't figure where to put it.
Everything is already so perfect in here I am not sure I will do anything but hang a wreathe and lights outside, open the drapes and let the natural beauty of the trees and my yard speak of Gods creation. He is a lot better at this years Decor. Love where I am.
Although  most of my family is not even close nor would they care, this years Christmas season is a monumental step for me the beginning of my individual dreams.

My America My CHRISTMAS

Sometime in your life, you will have to stand up for what you believe. In America right now wrong seems to be right. Our role models are pathetic, abusive, media enhanced thugs. Moreover, the lies and betrayals run ramped in our political arena, our churches our schools and our system in general. America was founded on freedom. Whether we are politically correct or our terminology offends someone is still our free choice. We as Americans have let the entire world enter to enjoy our country. But we do not have to loose site of our Freedoms and beliefs to please theirs. Christmas is just that Christmas, not a winter holiday. I am tired of changing what I was brought up to say change to coddle those that came here for what I as a American citizen gave them.

Dysfunctional Holiday cards

Dysfunctional Holiday cards
Two years ago, I boasted
Of what a great family I had.
Now just two years later they
Have all made me sad.
Because one couple parted ways.
Divided though they stand.
Taking a side of each of them has
Broke our family ban.
I burned your stockings in effigy
With the coal, you should have got.
I shall not spend a dime
Not one present have I bought
I am ashamed of all you have done
Name calling lying and your games.
I need not think of you again
To me you are all insane.
As many old, ones left behind.
In addition, needed never more.
This ends my descendant’s line
To you I shut the door.
This Holiday I will do
What all those old
Are left to share.
I will serve the homeless food and Love
As least, they seem to care.

Social Media

Social Media? Where is the Social Part? The world has become a very unfriendly place.
I am beginning to sit back and watch. No more do I enter in on conversations because just like the news media they all put their own spin on it. If you speak to someone that does not use these sites You say What? You are behind times. No I think they are spared the hypocritical notions that come with them.
Who are these that choose to use our sites to exploit our dirty laundry. Our countries, Our people, our neighbors, even our families.
Well I guess I got to use mine to vent in the inhospitable ways of Social Media.

Changing Season

I haven't published for a week or so many things have been going on in our lives. Some not worth posting at this time so I will speak of the good things.
I was reading an article about living on very little money. About a guy living in his RV. The whole idea is very appealing to many people usually the ones over sixty that have realized that they are owned by their material possessions. Or have had to make the choice of traveling or just sitting in they’re big old fancy house.
I for one tried it last summer. I have an disabled daughter that needs my attention she is however thirty five years old and needs her own room. My husband is a workaholic. So my daughter and I took off to the coast for the summer months. IT WAS GRAND. My daughter had the bedroom because she can have her TV and her laptop for games. For us to survive in a motor home no matter how long we would have to have a two bedrooms. Three people in one motor home (and mine is thirty-five foot.) Will just not work. I think that having a cabana that you could go and pull up along side in the winter would be great. That way you don’t get Cabin fever when one or all three are trying to read, (or in my case write...) play games and or watch football.
Changing of your direction is the best part. When you get bored park anothr direction.
Most Nat. Parks let you stay fourteen days. That’s long enough for me to see everything with in twenty to fifty miles of a place and I would be ready to move on in summers past.

However this last summer we just went to the coast of Oregon only eighty or so miles from where we had ... a big old farm house and lots of work.
I have to tell you it was the best summer I have had in years Stress free, care free, youthful and I could go on and on. So good in fact that we left our farm and leased a home for the winter. So we are now living in our vacation spot. I won’t sell the motor home because  when next summer comes we have our favorite Pow Wows to attend farther up the coast. So the giant is parked for the winter in the driveway. It wasn’t (and still isn’t) easy for my husband to do this however. He wasn’t keen on the idea of being a week end husband. Therefore, he gave it a great deal of thought and said maybe it is time to slow down and retire again. (At sixty-eight) Duh!
I am as happy as a bed bug in a high rise. I can go to the beach, the pier; watch all the waves crash into the jetty. I am an amateur photographer. Therefore, I never get bored taking picture of how mother nature changes. There's a lot of beautiful scenery in this country and it doesn't cost anything. I don’t buy into the consumerist cycle anymore. I don’t buy anything I don’t need. I have so much that when we decided to have the last three yard sales in order to move I haven’t missed a thing. That is sad to admit but it is true. My material things owned me.
Strangely enough we had lived in this same town many, many years ago and we keep running into people that we knew back when. They are all so friendly. I think it is because they didn’t ever leave the vacation spot. We left to a better job, better income and what for? I ask myself now. At any rate we are back where the good Lord put us in the first place Returning from Texas after a long and horrendous bout with cancer. Fifteen years ago. I feel like I have made a full circle.

Really brings out the Vigilante in me. How about you?

Really brings out the Vigilante in me. How about you?
Read the statistics
U.S. Leads Drug Use
Illegal drugs are more available now than a decade ago.
(WebMD) Despite tough anti-drug laws, a new survey shows the U.S. has the highest level of illegal drug use in the world.
I am writing this because my very best friend of forty + years had her home broke into literally door kicked in and her house tossed this last Weds. Drug-related illness, death, and crime cost the nation approximately $66.9 billion. Every man, woman, and child in America pays nearly $1,000 annually to cover the expense of unnecessary health care, extra law enforcement, auto accidents, crime, and lost productivity resulting from substance abuse
She works at Wal-Mart. Nights. Lives alone and has trouble making ends meet. A simple life a quiet church going single woman comes home to find what little she has in her small studio apt, gone. She doesn’t even have cable. Just a TV, DVR, and a large assortment of movies. GONE. Her digital camera a gift from her son at Christmas., Gone. Her drawers dumped, her mattress askew. Her old and I mean elderly cat hidden up in the box springs of her bed. A small amount of cash supposedly hidden to make ends meet from paycheck to paycheck. What little she had is now gone. She said the neighbors know of a pick up that had been seen several times in front of her rural apt. leaving about the time of the incident. This particular morning.
The things that were taken are of fast cash items. She of course had to stay home and pick up the pieces, and couldn’t leave until her apt was secured, (the door being dislodged from its frame). In addition, when she goes back to work she has been docked for an unauthorized absence. Can you believe this? Wouldn’t loosing everything thing of value be a legitimate excuse for not showing up for the night shift?

The Beauty of my Beach

The weather changes in Oregon about every fifteen minutes.
Kind of like a Teenager before she goes out on Friday Night. For me I am glad I have forced air and heat. The comfort of carpet under my feet.
Yesterday at four-thirty am the stars were out the half a moon moving along trying to beat the sun to its resting place for the day. However, this morning it is all hidden behind a layer of clouds.
Fall is upon us. A beautiful season of changing colors.
On the coast, in my opinion, the summer months are the best. The town literally doubles in its population, the businesses begin to visit grouping together for the many festivals drawing thousands of tourists. Although a bit slower in the past few years because of the economy, they thrive for those three months.
The awe inspiring beauty of the coast, is a draw whatever the season. The daunting power of the ocean waves crashing along the jetty. The Sea gull in search for a post inside the harbor that isn’t framed with a plastic point, to make her nest lay her eggs, safe from other predators.
In the summer there is a shift in the hustle bustle of the entire community in hopes that America will come visit where the peaceful existence of man and nature, ease in and out of the harbor.

Human Services? I question.

You ever want to do something to help someone. However, it seems no one will take you seriously?
I am in a situation like that now. I have the chance to make a safe, reputable home for a couple of kids in foster care. I am retired. Free. Don’t need the money. The responsibility. I am not too old, nor am I senile.
Yet these two deserve a healthy environment. A place to grow up. Have family filled memories. The system is so intense and critical of someone that comes to them ( with no ulterior motives )and says I know of two great kids, that are going to have to move out of their present foster home. They have asked to come to my home. Nevertheless, no one listens to them. They say, “Oh they will just go to the next home in line.” Wow!! Now isn’t that ‘Human’ services! Nothing Humane about that, that I can see. I am eligible, to do this. No records not one ticket in thirty years. No weird fetishes, nothing odd about me (well with the exception that I am White, Born in America, and educated). Nothing to stop them from helping expedite the situation. NO, they say Classes start at the end of the month. No personal touch at all. Our system has become so institutionalized, that it is no wonder that children fall through the cracks. In addition, No one cares what is good, just who has put in the hours. Well for this, I will jump through their hoops. I will take their tests. Take my toe prints while you’re at it. My fingerprints and are a little washed out from doing dishes and scrubbing my home keeping it clean so that my fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren could be healthy when they visit. The gall of the job. “Human Services”

A simple word change

America Land of the Free- Questionable
Home of the Brave -Undeniable.
Then there is the malevolent and the dishearten.
Down trodden by economics. Ravaged by Mother Natures unending mood swings. And the government. Yes your government, that is so subtly taking our words and changing them into tactical changes. Words Like "Armed Services". Now “ Uniformed services” almost like a Postal Worker, Sanitation Service or government worker.
Our Leaders and I use that term loosely. Are more worried about Lawsuits and their careers. Our Towns and Cities are more worried about their images. “We the People” the beginnings of Gutless Frivolous and careless inhabitants. If you don’t vote, you loose. If you don’t speak up and let others, know your opinions. You loose. If you don’t stand up and use your rights to free speech, as I am doing now, you loose.

Reading this article is depressing, the word change is subtle but the meaning is the same We are being taken over from the inside out. Wake up.

How children perceive things

My Beach Today:
A father was at the beach with his children
when his four-year-old daughter ran up to him,
grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
... where a seagull lay dead in the sand..
'Daddy, what happened to him?' his daughter asked.
'He died and went to Heaven,' the Dad replied.
The little girl thought a moment and then said,
'Did God throw him back down?'
